What's a kelpcritter? I am. I'm also a mother, a writer, a programmer, a photographer, a publisher, a diver, and an assortment of other nouns. So why pick out my kelpcritterness? The kelp forest is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and diving with other wild sea animals is a privilege and a pleasure. You can learn more about my sea adventures in the Hobby section.

Professionally, I have experience in a few areas of writing and publishing. My career started with writing for magazines for women, children, and the general public. Later, I ventured into technical writing as I learned web programming languages and built web sites. You can learn more about my writing experience by going to the Writing page. Recently, I've turned my hobby of photography into a professional career, one which requires a lot of wonderful travel and exploration of this beautiful planet we live on.

Lastly, I have my own publishing company, Sacred Oaks Publishing. No, it doesn't focus on religious material, but all the books I publish are about some aspect of nature, the divine, or the fantastic. Oak trees symbolize where I live and how I feel about the magnitude of writing and publishing.

Arlyn and the Purloin Bane, my first novel, was released July 2006. Look for the sequel next year. I'm also releasing a couple of non-fiction titles next year, so check my Publishing page for more information on my book publishing projects and business.

Scuba diving and hiking, and my interest in nature, lead me into some fascinating paths for spiritual fulfillment. I'm currently pursuing astrology, tarot cards, Buddhism, Yoga, and Wiccan studies. Interestingly, these spiritual paths are leading me back to my Scandinavian (Norse) roots. Obviously, Nourie is not my maiden name.
